Special Recognition
The J.C. Gorman Tournament would not have been so successful for so many years without the dedication and service of these people.
Thank you!
Halley Weaver Award
This award honors volunteers who have made lasting contributions to the sport. Beginning with Halley Weaver himself, the ultimate volunteer and the “voice” of the Gorman. These honorees represent the backbone of the tournament: people whose behind-the-scenes efforts have ensured its continuity and quality.
Doug Castle Award
Doug Castle had many titles: teacher, coach, mentor, principal, academic encourager, and advocate for youth. Doug was a long-time Gorman volunteer and, for many years, the Director of the Gorman Tournament. Under Doug’s leadership, the tournament grew and enjoyed much success. This award is selected by the tournament officials for the coach that exhibits the qualities that Doug exemplified.
